In an attempt to keep myself blogging more consistently this year, I’ve embarked on a 52 week photo challenge (again). I’ll most likely post those photos with regular blog posts, but I’ll keep them here as well. This particular challenge comes from The Bethadilly 52 Photo Challenge. Each week participants try to capture one photo that illustrates that particular week’s theme assignment.
I have always had an interest in photography, but started to take a much more serious approach before my first son was born almost five years ago. I purchased a Canon Rebel camera and vowed (mostly to my husband in order to prove that I wasn’t wasting my money) that I would use it. And I have! I have followed through with about five things as a mother, but using this camera is one of them. I’m out growing this trusty camera now and hope to get a full frame Canon soon, but for now, this little guy has served me well. I’m proud of myself for learning how to get off of auto-mode, use a wide angle lens and edit with Lightroom and Photoshop. I once dabbled in newborn photography, but it’s tough to start a small business and run it well, teach full time and still feel as though I’m giving enough to my family. For me, it wasn’t in the cards at that time. For now, I keep taking photos to satisfy my love of photography and document my family’s adventures along the way.
